There is a new immunization requirement that will be in effect next school year, reminds the Iowa Council Bluffs Public Health Department to parents of students enrolling in the seventh and 12th grades.
“Meningococcal disease is a very serious, life-threatening illness,” Tanya French, public health nurse at Council Bluffs Public Health. “Teens and young adults are at increased risk for meningococcal disease, and meningococcal vaccine is the best protection.”
