Erica Tambrini, 34 year old occupational therapist from Indiana USA, had both legs below the knee and both arms below the elbow amputated due to meningitis and sepsis.
She feared she may never find love or become a mum as her appearance had dramatically changed. But now she gleams with pride as she has a successful career, loving husband Luke, 35, and two children – Lily, five and Michael, three.
She is sharing her story for the first time to raise awareness about meningitis. She said, “It is hard knowing I will never be able to run around the park with my children or braid my daughters hair but at least I am here and being the best mum possible. I also work in mental health so I am able to take my own advice when going through challenging times”.
