Meningitis is scary & sneaky. The brain and spinal cord infection is serious and can be deadly—and some types can be passed from person to person.
“Depending on what type of meningitis it is, it can be very dangerous,” Amesh A. Adalja, M.D., senior associate at the John’s Hopkins Center for Health Security.
Symptoms are generalized & vague that can be mistaken for milder forms of illness. Vaccines are available for some forms of meningitis so check with your doctor so your loved ones can be protected.
