The trial with the new pentavalent vaccine NmCV-5 found no safety concerns with NmCV-5. It induces a strong immune response across five strains of meningococcal bacteria: A, C, W, Y and X.
The World Health Organization (WHO) ‘Defeating Meningitis by 2030 Global Roadmap’ key part is developing affordable vaccines providing broad coverage against meningococcal disease strains. WHO estimates 250 deaths caused by meningitis in 2019.
