New South Wales Central Coast people have been told to be alert for symptoms of meningococcal disease after two cases were recorded.

If symptoms rapidly worsen and you suspect meningococcal meningitis to go to the emergency department immediately. Meningococcal disease can be fatal within hours if left untreated. Children under five and 15 to 25-year-olds are at greatest risk of contracting the disease.
