Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) reported at least 24 cases of serious meningococcal disease outbreak in Florida.
There were at least seven deaths among gay and bisexual men. The CDC’s Dr. José R. Romero, Director of National Center for Immunization and Respiratory Diseases, advises that: “Getting vaccinated against meningococcal disease is the best way to prevent this serious illness, which can quickly become deadly.”
