Molly Ringwald teams up with the National Meningitis Association (NMA) for – the 16 Vaccine Initiative – to help parents and their teens in getting to know about the importance of meningococcal meningitis vaccine.
NMA President Leslie Maier, who lost her son Chris to meningococcal meningitis when he was just 17 years old, encourages parents to get the second dose of MenACYW for their teen at age 16. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommends to have kids vaccinated at ages 11 and 12 then the second dose before going to college to fully protect their teens as they enter the more risky years of their lives.
