Meningococcal Meningitis hits close to home

A senior at Rosemont High School became sick with meningococcal meningitis and is currently hospitalized.

Rosemont HS students and parents were contacted by the school officials using an automated system to alert them about this disease.  Read the letter sent and more about the article from Rosemont Patch.

The meningococcal vaccine recommended by CDC (Center for Disease Control) for 11 years old and above should be taken to reduce the spread and risk from meningococcal meningitis. Parents should talk to their doctor or pediatrician about getting their student vaccinated.
